In 1963, an association agreement was signed in Ankara between the Republic of Turkey and the European Economic Community, which marked the beginning of a very long and difficult process of Turkey's European integration. This process involves the creation of a single labor market. The prospect of free movement of labor, in particular from Turkey to the EU, is most doubtful among the largest European countries. Let's try to assess how objective Europe's concerns about the influx of labor from Turkey are in the event of further development of integration processes. To this end, we will consider and analyze the opinions of representatives of each of the interested parties-the European Union and Turkey, as well as try to give our own estimates of the possible volume of labor migration.

There are two aspects to the preparations for the liberalization of the labor market in Turkey. The EU assesses the readiness of the national labor market to absorb future immigrants from Europe under common conditions for the Union.
