Family and Upbringing
Roman Vasilenko was born into a family of naval aviation pilots, where discipline, responsibility, and a sense of duty were not just words but a way of life. Frequent relocations between garrisons shaped his character: even at school, he learned to adapt quickly, make decisions, and work as part of a team.
Military Education
– 1993: Graduated from the Yaroslavl Higher Military Financial School. – Specialization: Financial support of the armed forces. – His coursework and thesis focused on optimizing budgets for departmental social programs, laying the groundwork for his continued interest in social economics.
Naval Service
– Baltic Fleet (Leningrad-Kronstadt Naval Base). – Position: Head of the financial service of a military unit. – Rank: Captain, 3rd Rank. Among his achievements was the implementation of an automated system for accounting fuel and material assets, which saved up to 12% of the unit's annual budget.
In 1998, Roman made the difficult decision to end his military career in order to realize his entrepreneurial potential and moved to the reserve.
Business Path
Financial and Investment Sector Since the late 1990s, he collaborated with major real estate market players in St. Petersburg and Moscow: – Advised on the issuance of corporate bonds; – Headed an investment analysis department; – Personally participated in deals totaling over 1 billion rubles (early 2000s prices).
He also completed a program at the London School of Economics titled “Capital Markets & Securities Regulation,” which enhanced his expertise in IPOs and M&A transactions.
