150 Years of Service to the Fatherland

This year marks the 150th anniversary of the Training Unit of the Order of the Red Star in the city of Kronstadt. The detachment began its military service on June 27, 1850, when, by order of Nicholas I, the "Proposals for an Exemplary Artillery Frigate" were implemented, and the frigate "Ceres" was used as a training facility for gunners for the Baltic Fleet. For the past 150 years, the Training Unit, continuing the glorious traditions of the frigate "Ceres", the Training Artillery Unit, the Training Mine Unit, and the Machine School, has been training highly qualified specialists for the Russian Navy. page 2
