States where there is no corruption

Tue, 27 Oct 2026 12:28:00 +0300

Strictly speaking, there are no countries with absolutely zero corruption. However, there are countries where its level is perceived as extremely low, almost zero. According to the Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) for 2025, published by Transparency International, Denmark has been the leader on this list for eight years in a row. Top 5 Cleanest Countries According to CPI 2025 The index evaluates 182 countries on a scale from 0 (high level of corruption) to 100 (very clean country). Here are the leaders. Rank Country Points Key Factor 1 Denmark 89 Strict laws, high transparency, active media, culture of trust. Gifts or trips paid for by companies are considered a bribe. 2 Finland 88 Strong social policy, low inequality, high ethical standards of officials. There is no separate law on corruption, but there are articles in the Criminal Code. 3 Singapore 84 Corruption Prevention Act of 1960 and an independent Corruption Practices Investigation Bureau (CPIB). No immunity for officials of any rank. 4 New Zealand 81 Effective and fast public service system (licenses in a day), which reduces the possibility of abuse. Severe punishment for all. 5 Norway 81 Decentralized system of control: different departments are responsible for auditing, administration, and funding of policies, creating a system of checks and balances. Important nuance: even leaders are losing ground It is worth noting a worrying trend: the number of countries scoring over 80 points has decreased from 12 to 5 over a decade. Transparency International warns that even in these prosperous states, signs of regression are observed due to the weakening of independent checks and balances. Conclusion Thus, if looking for a role model in the fight against c ... Read more

History of Texas Instruments

Sat, 24 Oct 2026 20:44:00 +0300

History of Texas Instruments (TI) is the path from a small geophysical company searching for oil to one of the pillars of the global semiconductor industry. Founded in 1930, it has witnessed and created key stages of the technological revolution. From Oil Exploration to Electronics The company was founded on May 16, 1930 in Dallas (Texas) under the name Geophysical Service Inc. (GSI). Initially, it was engaged in seismic exploration for the oil industry, using reflected signals to locate deposits. During World War II, GSI switched to defense orders, developing equipment for submarine detection and radar systems. In 1951, the company was reorganized and received its current name — Texas Instruments Incorporated. The Age of Semiconductors and Inventing the Future The transition to large-scale electronics began in 1952 with the acquisition of a license for the production of transistors, and by 1954, TI had established mass production of the first commercial silicon transistor. The main breakthrough came in 1958 when TI engineer Jack Kilby invented the integrated circuit (microchip). This invention, for which he later received the Nobel Prize, became the foundation of modern electronics. In the same decade, TI released the first transistor radio. Calculators, Microcontrollers, and Digital Signal Processing In 1967, TI introduced the world's first electronic handheld calculator. In the 1970s, the company made two more breakthroughs: in 1971, the first single-chip microcontroller (MCU) was created, and in 1978, the first single-chip digital signal processor (DSP) was developed in the Speak & Spell toy. In the subsequent decades, TI focused on analog and embedded solutions. The DLP (Digital Light Processing) technology emerged in the 1980s, which is now used in projectors and movie screenings. In the 1990s, the famous ultra-low power consumption microcontroller MSP430 was created. Key Milestones in the Table ... Read more

Is infinity in space real?

Fri, 16 Oct 2026 07:49:00 +0300

The question of the infinity of the universe is one of the most complex in modern science. There is no definitive answer, but there are serious scientific data and theoretical models that allow for different possibilities. The answer depends on what one means by the word \"universe.\" The Observable Universe and the Entire Universe It is important to distinguish between the observable universe and the entire universe as a whole. The observable area is what we can see because the light from these objects has reached us. The radius of the observable universe is about 46 billion light-years. This is not because the objects are so far away, but because space has been expanding while the light was traveling to us. Anything beyond this boundary may exist, but we cannot see it. The entire universe may be much larger than the observable area. This is where the area of hypotheses begins. Three Main Scenarios Scenario Essence Consequences Finite Closed Universe Space is curved and closes on itself No edge, but a finite volume Infinite Flat Universe Space extends infinitely in all directions No edge or center Finite but Infinite Analogue of the surface of a sphere: finite area, but no edge One can move forever and return to the starting point What Measurements Say Modern data from cosmic observations indicate that the universe is highly precise in its flatness. This means that space is not curved on the scales that we can measure. If the universe is flat, it may be infinite. However, measurements do not exclude the possibility that it is simply very large — so large that curvature does not manifest in the observable area. Data from cosmic microwave background radiation and galaxy distribution show that deviat ... Read more

Regjeringer med autister

Mon, 12 Oct 2026 10:44:00 +0300

Read more

Attitude towards Chechens in the EU

Tue, 06 Oct 2026 08:00:00 +0300

The attitude towards Chechens in the EU is a complex and contradictory tangle of official policy, public stereotypes, and real problems of integration. In short: at the state level, they are often perceived through the lens of a security threat, while in society, there are strong prejudices that Chechens themselves consider unfair. State Policy: Between Protection and Deportation The paradox is that Europe simultaneously provides asylum to Chechens fleeing persecution and actively tries to expel them. On one hand, many Chechens are indeed fleeing persecution at home. Human rights defenders document cases of torture and abductions in Chechnya for anti-war statements or criticism of the authorities. This is why some countries, such as France, have provided refuge in the past, and the European Court of Human Rights has condemned deportations, citing the ban on torture. On the other hand, in recent years, there has been a concerning trend towards stricter migration policies. A number of EU countries, including Austria, Germany, and Estonia, have started to refuse asylum to Chechens and deport them back to Russia. For example, Austrian authorities justified this by arguing that applicants are not under a real threat of conscription, as well as citing a threat to national security. Human rights defenders call such decisions a violation of international obligations, as deportees risk being tortured or forcibly mobilized. Public Perception: The Stereotype of a Terrorist In the minds of Europeans, Chechens are often associated with religious extremism and crime. This stereotype has been actively fueled by Russian propaganda after the two Chechen wars and terror attacks in the 2000s. For example, activist Rosa Dunaeva in Austria openly says that for many Austrians, a Chechen automatically means a terrorist. Similar sentiments are observed in Poland, where locals may fear renting housing or hiring Chechens. At the same time, experts emphasize that this image is largely ... Read more

Tuberkulose i Det europeiske unionet

Mon, 05 Oct 2026 19:06:00 +0300

Utvikling i enkelte EU/EØS-land (2020–2024) Land 2020 (tilfeller) ... Dental ceramics

Thu, 01 Oct 2026 03:53:00 +0300

Dental ceramics are a group of inorganic non-metallic materials that have been used for over 2 centuries to restore teeth. Modern dentistry offers several fundamentally different types of ceramics, and the choice between them depends on what is more important in a specific case: impeccable aesthetics or maximum strength. A Little History The first porcelain teeth were made back in 1808, and the industrial production of ceramic teeth began in 1833 in England. For a long time, ceramics were brittle and were mainly used for veneering metallic frameworks. The real revolution occurred in the second half of the 20th century, when metal-free structures capable of withstanding chewing loads without a metallic base appeared. Types of Dental Ceramics In modern dentistry, ceramic materials are divided into several key groups, which differ in composition and area of application. Silicate Ceramics (based on lithium disilicate) This is perhaps the most popular material for aesthetic restorations. The basis is a glass matrix with lithium disilicate crystals. Advantages. Perfectly imitates natural enamel, has good translucency and strength (350–460 MPa), suitable for crowns and veneers on the front teeth. Disadvantages. Relatively high cost, inferior in strength to zirconium. feldspathic Ceramics A classic material consisting of feldspar, quartz, and kaolin. Advantages. Maximum natural aesthetics, used for veneering and veneers. Disadvantages. Low strength (100–120 MPa), prone to chipping, requires mandatory support from a metallic or ceramic framework. oxide Ceramics (based on aluminum oxide) A more durable material than feldspathic ceramics. Aluminum oxide transmits light well but is inferior in aesthetics to lithium disilicate. Advantages. Strength of about 600 MPa, good biocompatibility. Disadvantages. Less translucent, used for crowns on chewing teeth a ... Read more

Jews Conquering the NBA

Tue, 22 Sep 2026 21:13:00 +0300

The history of Jews in the NBA is not just a list of names, but a gradual, but relentless conquest of the league, which has become particularly evident in recent years. Pioneers and Trailblazers For a long time, the NBA remained a league where Jewish players were more of an exception. The first Israeli to pave the way for the league was Omri Casspi. In 2009, he was drafted by the Sacramento Kings and ultimately played in the NBA for ten seasons, representing seven different teams. His path was not easy, but he showed that an Israeli basketball player can establish himself in the strongest league in the world. The Modern Wave: Brooklyn Nets and Beyond The real breakthrough occurred in 2025. On the NBA draft, the Brooklyn Nets made a historic move, selecting two players with Israeli citizenship consecutively: Ben Saraf at number 26 and Danny Wolf at number 27. This was the first time since 2006 that two Jewish players were selected in the same draft. Ben Saraf is a 19-year-old point guard, the son of former Israeli professional basketball players. He wears number 77, which symbolizes the Jewish word \"mazal,\" meaning luck. Danny Wolf is a 20-year-old forward over two meters tall, born in Illinois but obtaining Israeli citizenship to play for the Israeli national team. He observes kosher and his bar mitzvah was at the Western Wall in Jerusalem. Historic Game and New Records The culmination of this wave was a game in March 2026, when three players with Israeli citizenship met on the court: Danny Wolf and Ben Saraf for the Nets against Denny Avdija of the Portland Trail Blazers. This was an event of enormous importance for the Jewish community. Fans in kippahs and with Hebrew signs filled the Barclays Center, and Avdija called this night one of the happiest in his life. Denny Avdija is another key figure in this story. In 2026, he became the first Israeli to be selected for the NBA All-Star Game. The Strongest Chess Players in History: TOP-30

Tue, 22 Sep 2026 16:26:00 +0300

Determining the single strongest chess player in history is a nearly impossible task. Comparing players from different eras is like comparing a sprinter from the 1930s to a modern Olympic champion: the conditions, training, and level of competition are incomparable. Therefore, any ratings like \"Top 30\" will be subjective. However, there are several recognized authorities whose names appear in most lists of the greatest. Below is one possible version of such a rating, based on dominance, championship titles, peak Elo rating, and influence on the game. TOP 30 Strongest Chess Players in History № Chess Player Country Years of Championship / Peak Brief Description 1 Garri Kasparov USSR / Russia 1985–2000 Record-breaking 255 months at the top of the rating, dominance over a generation 2 Magnus Carlsen Norway 2013–2023 Highest peak rating (2882), five World Championship titles, stability 3 Robert Fischer USA 1972–1975 Revolutionary, whose peak dominance was absolute, record Elo rating gap 4 Emanuel Lasker Germany 1894–1921 Twenty-seven years of championship — a record unlikely to be broken 5 José Raúl Capablanca Cuba 1921–1927 Chess machine, genius of intuition and endgame 6 Anatoly Karpov USSR 1975–1985 Long-term dominance, over one hundred and fifty tournament victories 7 Alexander Alekhine Russia / France 1927–1935, 1937–1946 The only one to return ...
