Residential or residential?
The need to distinguish between the paronyms housing and residential is primarily due to the fact that the same-root nouns housing and housing are partial synonyms. Definitions of the meanings of each of these nouns in explanatory dictionaries differ only in details (which are not necessary to dwell on) and are mainly reduced to the following: housing - "Premises for housing: house, apartment, etc." (for example, home improvement, right to housing): housing - 1. Here are some examples: "The housing problem has long passed into a new stage... "(Izvestia. 1994. May 5); "Even from the window of an electric train, you can estimate that housing construction is going on outside the city, which is completely unprecedented in recent decades" (Obozrevatel. 1994. N 4); "And we have a special fund for improving housing conditions" (Arguments and Facts. 1999. N 4); " From now on, we have theoretical opportunities to get an apartment in two ways: by getting housing loans and by purchasing housing certificates "(Izvestia. 1994. July 12); "Everyday problems, housing problems do not give optimism to anyone" (Home hearth. 1999. February). The main meaning of the adjective residential: "Intended, adapted for housing". This adjective serves as a definition for the following nouns: house, room, room, building, structure, building, complex, array, microdistrict, quarter, zone, building, area, half (houses), real ...
